Yay for Friday! I’m popping in with a card today that I made to help my hubby remember our anniversary date. Does that sound weird to you? Let me tell you what happened a few days ago. Every year when our anniversary is coming, I ask my hubby what date our anniversary is. Then he always tells me a wrong date. It happened again this year. He is helpless about remembering particular dates. Isn’t that just like a man? So I told him patiently one more time that it’s May 27th. Whew!

Can you imagine what I discovered the next morning? When I was sitting at my worktable, I noticed my calendar with a big red circle around May 26th and the word “anniversary.” I did mark the wrong date. What was wrong with me? There was no reason to blame my hubby for forgetting the exact anniversary date. Ha-ha! 😉

That’s why I created the anniversary card with a large number “527” on it. Hopefully it will help me and my husband to recall the date with a visual. For my card, I started by masking the bottom of my white cardstock using post-it-notes placed at an angle. Then, I put the chipboard number stickers along the edge that was masked.

After that, I sprayed a few inks from Color Shine by Heidi Swapp over the open area of my panel. Next, I carefully took off the masking paper and stickers. The sentiment was stamped in black under the numbers. For the final touch, I added some enamel dots from My Mind’s Eye above the numbers.

I’m not going to give this to my hubby for our anniversary, though, since he already saw the card. It’s supposed to be a surprise, right? I’m still thinking about what I could create for him. Something CAS as usual or something shabby chic which would be outside of my comfort zone? I’ll figure out by tomorrow.

That’s for all today. Hope you enjoyed my card and get some inspiration. Thanks for stopping my blog. Have a great Memorial Day Weekend!
