Watercolor Thank You Card

Hello, all y’all! I’ve been taking a watercolor class for about three months at the adult school. In the first class, I was amazed by the gradation effects depending on how much water I add to my brush or paint. That doesn’t mean I am able to create a nice, smooth gradation of colors. Yes, I’m a beginning watercolorist. 😉 Ever since I discovered the beauty of watercolors, I’ve wanted to apply what I learned from the class to my cards.

So yesterday I took some time to make a thank you card for my watercolor teacher, Steve, who is like a grandpa to me. I started with a piece of 140lb watercolor paper to create the background of my card. Then I applied the color yellow onto the white panel with a gradient technique by adding water.

Then I stamped the flower image from Agapanthus by Stampendous in a StazOn Jet black ink. I used a sheet of vellum to add the sentiment which was from PTI Inside & Out:Thank You. Next I placed the vellum using double sided tape and put some brads as an interest.
