Happy Friday! I decided to participate in the Runway Inspired challenge at the last minute, because I couldn’t resist creating a card based on this week’s inspiration photo:

Such a perfect spring dress! It’s soft, light, airy, delicate, I could go on and on about this floaty chiffon dress. I feel like I could smell of fresh flowers from the dress. I wanted the use some vellum and floral paper for my creation to replicate the soft and floral design of her dress. Here is my take:

I started by gold embossing the sentiment from Avery Elle onto the vellum. Then I placed the embossed panel over the lovely paper from My Mind’s Eye and sew them together using my sewing machine. After that, I laid down strips of washi leaving a little gap in between for my panel. I finished off the card with some snow white sequins to balance out the design.

Here is a closer look at my card. I love the floral paper peeking through the vellum. What do you think? Hope you like it and get some inspiration.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great weekend!

  1. I think the card is as beautiful as the dress…love the vellum to really create a very romantic feel to your card. Gold embossing really makes me feel like this card falls into the Classy and Elegant category!

  2. So adorable May! A combination of whimsy with just a touch of graphic, with those diagonal stripes peeking through! Thanks for sharing with us on the Runway 😉
