Hi, crafty friends! Today I’m sharing my quickfire card for the Catered Crop: Good Birthdays challenge. I was so glad when I found out the birthday theme since I needed a card for my friend’s daughter who will turn 10 next week. It’s not often that I get to make kid birthday card which is absolutely challenging to me. I didn’t want to give her a dull and boring card for her first two-digit birthday. Then I came up with a interactive shaker card.

I started by white embossing the sentiment from Handwritten Note stamp set by Every Elle on the bottom of my card base from Raspberry Fizz cardstock. Then I created number ten: the one with the alphabet die from Avery Elle and the zero with the circle die from My Favorite Things. To make my number one look like candle, I placed little star accent over the inlaid die cut.

Next, I cut one piece of acetate with the next bigger circle die and glued it using mini glossy accents to the inside of card base. Then I put thin cuts of foam tape along the edge of the window to create little well, filled with the sequins from Neat And Tangled along with some tiny beads. After that, I covered my window with confetti paper from American Crafts. I finished my card by drawing some white dashed lines.

Here is a close-up of all the details from this card. I love how my card turned out. Fun, lovely, cheery, joyful, and colorful! Do you think a 10-year-old girl like this card? I hope so! Anyway, I had so much fun creating my first shaker card. (I have wanted to make a sequin shaker card since I came across this fun video tutorial by Laura Bassen. I’m so happy that I finally made it my own.)

FYI, these are the supplies I used for my card: Cuttlebug cutting machine was not pictured. That’s all I have for today.
