Hi crafty friends! It’s time for a new challenge over at CASology. I know a lot of people found last week’s cue word to be a bit of a head scratcher but this week’s leaves the possibilities wide open.

I was going to create some sexy card using red lipstick. I thought I could make a beautiful impression of my lips on the paper, but it didn’t work out the way I wanted it. (Any tips?) After I passed on the ‘first kiss’ idea, I wrote down everything else that came to mind when I thought of the word blush: wedding dress, love letter, flower, makeup, and so on. Finally I ended up going with a literal approach which is a color pink.

Since one of my friends is expecting a baby girl this summer, I created a welcome baby card with a soft, light, and sweet look just like a baby skin. I inlaid die cut using baby die by Papertrey Ink and stamped the sentiment from Baby mini stamp set. I made an ink splatter using Color Shine from Heidi Swapp. Then I finished off my card with some sequins from Neat and Tangled.

I usually make more than three cards with same design and choose the one I love most for the cue word. But this week I was pleased with what I came up with at the first attempt, so I decided to go with this card instead redoing it. Hope you like my card too. FYI, one of the keys to keeping a card clean and simple, with all the ink splatter and sequins, is to place them in one area and leave lots of ‘white’ space.

These are the supplies I used to create my cards: Cuttlebug die-cut machine was not pictured. Make sure to stop by the rest of the design team for more inspiration! I hope you play along with us this week, there is a wonderful prize up for grabs from Stamps and Scrapbooks and the winner will have a chance to guest design on the next challenge – more details are on the CASology blog. I can’t wait to see how all of you talented participants interpret this week’s cue card!
