Hi, crafty friends! Hope you are having a wonderful weekend! Today I’m sharing my quickfire card for the Catered Crop: Summer Lovin’ challenge. The best way to cool off in the middle of a hot summer is to stay indoors and play with paper and glue! Our theme for this challenge is Summertime, so grab a cool drink and jump in. Without further ado, here is what I came up with:

DSC_5576I created my own pattern by clear embossing a swim ring image from Float My Boat stamp set by Lawn Fawn. Then I colored my card front using Distress Ink pads. It’s a shame that my camera failed to catch the glossy look on the swim ring. It’s an awesome look in real life, or at least I think so.

sample_0628This is how I put together my card. 1)Draw some guide lines on card base using pencil and ruler. Then stamp swim rings in VersaMark watermark ink. 2)Sprinkle some clear embossing powder over the images and heat emboss them using heat tool. 3)Color the card front using Distress Ink pads: Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean, and Faded Jeans. 4)White Emboss the sentiment from Float My Boat stamp set by Lawn Fawn. 5)Stamp swim ring image in red and die cut it after coloring. 6)Adhere the swim ring using dimensional adhesive and coat it with Glossy Accents.

summerThere is a fabulous Pinterest board that Linda has curated. You can head over to her board, Summer Lovin’, to find links to all the inspiring projects. Make sure to stop by the Catered Crop blog to see the rest of the DT creations on Sunday, June 29. I hope you play along with us as the winners will have a chance to guest design on the next challenge. Well, that’s it for me today.Thank you so much for stopping by. Hope you have a great weekend! Happy crafting!
