Hello, and welcome to the My Monthly Hero kit launch blog hop. If you came from the amazing Clare’s blog, you are right on track! Today the creative team girls are sharing some fabulous projects to celebrate the release of July My Monthly Hero kit.

I created some fun Under The Sea background for today’s project. I stamped various sea creature images from the kit using Hero Arts Shadow Inks : Lime Green, Tide Pool and Mint Julep.

Then I stamped the turtle image with Neon Ombre Ink, fussy cut it with scissors and popped it up on the card front using foam tape. The sentiment was heat embossed with white embossing powder on a piece of black cardstock.

To finish off my card, I add some of Lucy’s super fun sequins, included in the kit. I’m usually not a fan of sea creatures, however, I love how my card turned out. By the way, this wasn’t my first design I came up with. If you want to see my other (failed) attempts, make sure to watch my video below.

I made a process video to show you how to make this card. You can watch it here or on my YouTube channel. This time I wasn’t able to do a voiceover, I hope you still find it helpful, though.

As you may already know, I love creating my own stamped background. The possibilities are endless when you use small images from your stamp sets. If you want more details of a particular card above, just click on the link to go to the original post. MH0716●  Giveaway

  7. Now you have me yearning to see a NEON turtle in the wild. How exciting that would be! Nice work.

  8. Your idea of the contrast of colors is excellent, and it gives a fabulous card.
The turtle is my favorite subject of the stamps set, I’ve always found them lovely, don’t ask me why. I love the ocean, the no limits feelings it gives.

  11. What a WOW card kit from HA. Your card with the pretty focal turtle is wonderful using the other stamps for a background effect. Great job.

  12. Wonderful colors on your card. The cool colors of this kit are the perfect antidote for this summer heat we are experiencing. It is a nice reminder of ocean breezes and plunging into the sea. I am really enjoying what you guys on the DT have done with this kit. I am inspired!

  17. Beautiful card – just love that pink turtle! Just before I came to the blog hop, I ordered my MMHK plus the seahorse set. I live by the sea, so I love everything ocean-related.

  18. Beautiful card, May!!! I love the pop of pink against that beautifully stamped background you created.

  22. When I saw your card it made me think of Nemo, his dad, Dory, and their adventures. They swam through jelly fish and, of course, got help from turtles and an octopus. Great soft background. Thanks for the inspiration!

  23. Love this card! These would make a great guy cards. Always looking for those! Thanks for sharing! Hope I am the lucky one.

  24. Aren’t these the most fab images? Loving your card. The kit is fantastic along with the great add ons. I must have one of each!

  25. Thank you, May, for your beautiful card and background ideas! I’ll have to try these. What a great idea! And thank you so much for sharing and participating in this great hop and giveaway.

  26. A friend of mine was big on saving the turtles. He wrote a book about it I think and he had these posters made up of a photo I think he took. The poster was breathtaking and he autographed one for my preschool and one for my nephew when he was much younger (he’s 18 now). This card reminds me of that. I don’t have my friends e-mail but he would love this card if he could see it!

  27. You went with the flow, and your card is beautiful, May. Your backgrounds always look so perfect they could be printed and sold. 😀
