Hello crafty friends! It’s Tuesday and that means time for a brand new challenge over at CASology. Here is this week’s cue card:
As always, you can interpret the word literally or go for something a bit more outside the box. This time I decided to create a Christmas card using my all-time favorite technique which is heat embossing. Here is what I came up with:
I created a flower ball Christmas ornament card inspired by my own card that I made last year. I started by heat embossing the flower images from Paperytrey Ink’s Beautiful Blooms II on a piece of black cardstock using Hero Arts’s silver embossing powder. Then I cut a A2 size panel out of color cardstock using Lawn Fawn’s Large Stitched Rectangle Stackables. After that, I matted stitched panel onto the embossed panel after cutting a circle window. I finished off the card with the sentiment from PapertreyInk’s ‘Tis the Season Sentiments. By the way, I used the color combo from the inspiration photo by Curtain Call challenge and Less is More.
Here is a closer look at my card. I adhered some rhinestones onto each flower to add interest to my ornament after coloring them with Copics. I love the way how my card turned out. 🙂
I created another card using same theme but different color combo. Which one do you like the most? Blue or pink? Hope you like at least one of my cards and get some inspiration to make your own Christmas card using heat embossing technique. (I’m entering my first card into the following challenge: Little Tangles #50, The Paper Players #225, and Simon Says Wednesday challenge.)
That’s all I have for today. Now it’s your turn to play along. There is a wonderful prize up for grabs from STAMPlorations and the winner will have a chance to guest design on the next challenge – more details are on the CASology blog. Make sure to stop by each of the DT’s blog to see how the rest of the designers interpreted the challenge. Thanks so much for stopping by. Happy crafting!
