Good morning crafty friends! It’s Tuesday and that means it’s time for a new challenge over at CASology! Here is this week’s cue card:
Have you ever experienced that you spilled a bucket of paint on the floor? or dropped a paintbrush on your clean surface while working on some painting project? Fortunately, that didn’t happen to me. (Knock on wood!) I imagined how awful I would feel if I spill paint on the floor. Well, we all make mistakes, and that’s why we need a magic word “I’m sorry.”
Then I came up with a paint splash card. I used paint swatch to create monochromatic color scheme on the left side of my card. And I used the 120lb white cardstock from Simon Says Stamp for the card base and focal panel. The splash image is from Neat&Tangled and the sentiment is from Handwritten Note stamp set by Avery Elle. I love the way yellow colors create warmth and comfort in my card. What do you think?
Here is a closer look at paint splash. I love how it turned out. Watercolor paint added some texture and interest to my focal image, even though it didn’t make a good impression.
Here is a step-by-step tutorial how I created my card. 1)Cut the paint swatch into pieces to create a panel with various shades of yellow. 2)Apply yellow paint on the stamp surface. 3)Stamp the ink splash image in yellow watercolor paint onto a piece of white panel. 4)Add the sentiment in black. 5)Attach the swatch panel on the left side of card base and adhere some dimensional adhesive on the back side of the focal panel. 6)Mount the stamped panel on the card base.
FYI, these are the supplies I used for my card. That’s all for today. Make sure to stop by each of the DT’s blog for more inspiration! I hope you play along with us as the winner will have a chance to guest design on the next challenge – more details are on the CASology blog.
