Happy Monday! I still cannot believe I’m in the Top 5 of the Paper Crafts Magazine’s Gallery Idol card contest. Thank you again for your sweet comments and votes for my Little Prince Themed card and help me to go to the final round. You’re all the best bloggie friends a girl could ever ask for! I really appreciate your support.
Now it’s time to focus on Final Round! The challenge is to create a card with adhesives in a fun/awesome/creative way! Then I decided to continue my fairy-tale series, and I chose one scene from Cinderella. Do you remember how Cinderella met a prince? It’s all because of her right shoe remained on the stairs. Cinderella’s glass slipper came off while she was escaping from castle in the story. But I want to reinterpret it in a modern way, so I imagined that her shoe was taken off by stepping on the chewing gum. Since I recreated the story, I changed her crystal shoe to the red high heel. Without further ado, here is what I came up with:
I really love how my card turned out, and I’m also proud myself that I kept true to my Clean and Simple style based on creativity. For my card, I started by designing my own images, castle, leg, and high heel, using Silhouette Design Studio. Then I heat embossed my high heel using Sparkle embossing powder and coated it with glossy accents. I used glue gun to create chewing gum and colored it with white acrylic paint. By the way, I’m sharing my cutting files I designed, and you can download HERE for only personal use. The file includes a high heel, leg, and castle.
Here is a detailed look of my card. The red glossy heel looks so fabulous with all the glitters. I love the drop shadow of heel created by popping it up with dimensional adhesive. The chewing gum looks a bit messy, but that’s what it’s supposed to look like. Isn’t it? What do you think? Hope you can catch the awesome details from the photo above. I’m so sure this card looks way better in real life.
For some of you who want to see the step-by-step tutorial, this is how I created my Cinderella Themed card. 1)Create a castle, high heeled shoe, and leg images using Silhouette design studio and cut them out using cutting machine. (Free cutting files download HERE for only personal use.) 2)Ink over the panel to blend in the colors using Distress inks: Broken China and Faded Jeans and Hero Arts Shadow Ink: Soft Pool. 3)Heat emboss the high heel with Sparkle embossing powder. 4)Color the edge of shoe with Strong Red Copic maker and adhere it on the leg, then pop it up on the panel using diminutional adhesive. Color some shade under the shoe using Netural Gray Copic marker. 5)Create a chewing gum using glue gun and paint it with white acrylic paint. Then place it under the heel. 6)Stamp the sentiment from Harold’s ABCs stamp set by Lawn Fawn. Finish off the card by applying some glossy accents on the high heel.
